Wow ... It had been almost 2 year since my last post , changed a few jobs during this period but yet and still looking for the ideal job for myself. I never do knows what I really wants - do I ? Sadly to sad, My skill did not really increase these periods as I did not really had a chance to learn much from any1 , but well ... I did my first fondant 2 tier cake , thanks to my fren for giving me the chance , I did not screw it up for their lovely daughter b'day. Had my fun with led lights in fondant cake , which I think was cool since not much in the market and well being a "Light-craze" person i think i should do more of it. Nothing much else changed in my life except OLDER yet behaving more n more like a kid ... ha ha. Guess I should start to re-blog soon m i seriously like to blog like those ppl who will take the time to write/photo about things the bake and share but i guess most of them are home bakers who did really well , i do feel ashamed myself comparing to most of them but then I think everyone is different. For my I kinda of know my directions in this career , I wanted to re-create flavours , try different design , maybe my decorating is still not that good but at least i tried. Some time i think it's the effort you put in that makes the customers see it , it doesn't really have to be 100% exactly to the same cos if not they might just do a print out or buy the toy figure. Now that i am changing my shift I ought to have more time to do what I want during off shift as the past 3-4 mths had been crazy working like 14-15 hrs for 4 days a week. I dun even had a life then. Below are some of my work recently , hope you guys liked it and i hope to be able to do more soon. Best is find a different job that will allows me to do all these more and to perfect my skills ...... I had given up hope of finding a good mentor that will teach me and guide me thru my career ...... sigh , the stage is set just for myself to learn , fall and stand up on myself. P/s : Everyone had a dream , but how many can reach it ? There is always one GOLD only but so many ppl are fighting for . How many of you out there had your dreams comes true ? I know mine is long gone but i will just do what I can cos it's too late to turn back now.

End of this road and starting of new ones

It had been a year when I first started out Sweet Thots with my friends, and soon it's coming to the end of the road. Well looking back , will keep wondering is it all worth it for the past 1 year ? where would I had been if not here ? Well hmmm maybe I might have landed myself in MBS like most of my peers are OR maybe not ( was only offered a 2nd interview when i accept this batam offer) Well u lose some , u win some , I had to say that i did pick up some stuffs while I am here , useful or not ? only time will tell.

Anyway in less then 1 mths time , I will be back to SG and hunting for jobs to start all over again , which is one part I hate , cos choosing the right job and getting it is so difficult. Just went for an interview and flunk it. I had interviews as I always failed to "sell" myself off. Well will just have to keep trying :)

天生我才必有用,只能在等待我生命中的伯樂。

Malacca Food Trip - July'10

Long story , Short said ! ( 长话短说 )Just food pics and addresses !!! ( and a bit of @#$@# in the end )

1) Chung Wah Coffee Shop - Chicken Rice Ball
Jalan Hang Jebat,

Operating hours: 7am to 3pm. ( Info online )

My Take : We tried Chung Wah and Hoe Kee , IF you believe me , go for Chung Wah , Hoe Kee totally cannot make it , in terms of chicken , it is not as smooth and tender like Chung Wah , also it just take like Singapore chicken rice taste , with the dark colored sauce , the rice also cannot make it cos it is gluey outside but inside is very grainy and the chilli also cannot make it !!! Trust me , go for Chung Wah

2) Jonker 88 - Chendol , Baba Laska

Operating hours: 10am to 6pm (8pm on weekends) ( Info Online )

My Take : Best Chendol , Best Laska for me , if you like you can try the nonya assam laska but i prefer the curry one ( Baba Laska) think they top it with sardine flakes , thus the soup is sweet and spicy. somtimes i will have it just w/o the noodles/bee hoon.

3) Dim Sum - Esp the Meat juicy pau

My Take : Dim sum .. nothing fantastic, in fact ,,, edible only but the Pau is really juicy , be careful when you take your first bite !

4) Pak Putra - tandoori chicken and Naan

Off days: alt Monday ( some ppl say they closed on Monday , some said alternate Monday, But I went on Monday IT was
closed , despite the waiter told me they were open the nite b4 i was there.)
* Please do come early for the Tandoori Chicken , I did not get to try b4 i was there like 10pm+ and just saw them served the
last place of Tandoori !!!

My Take : The naan was supered !!! together with the chip pea dips , a must try to me ! ( even though we did naan in school but it was not as soft as theirs !!! You won't regret trying )
**TIPS : For shortcut ( by foot ) , Cut thru Baba House if not you had to turn one big round.

5) Oyster egg Bunga Raya food court

My Take : ( so-so only , Ang Mo Kio Ave 10 , Blk 409 one is better to me if u like those wet wet type)Along jln bunga raya, the first stall in a lane (60-77 medan makanan bunga raya) beside a coffeeshop. The wanton noodle next stall, noodle not bad but soup CMI.

6) Tau Sia Pia Kim Huat Confectionery at 14, Jln Kg Kuli (off Lor Hang Jebat) ( can give a miss )

7) Crepe - Nadeje Patisserie

First notable landmark that you will notice at Tengkera, is the Balai Polis Tengkera (on your left. Then, keep going straight for
about 1km, and you will come to Masjid Tengkeraon your right. Once you've spotted this mosque, you need to decelerate.

My Take : So-so to me cos i am used to bangawan solo , but dun have chance to try the kueh dar dar , think we are there tooo early. try maybe go after 12 pm

9) Kedai Satay Xiang Ji
Xiang Ji is located off Jonker Street. It is just a short walk from Jonker Street, and it is opposite SRJK Pay Teck.

Never get to try so no comments.

10 ) Nonya Bak Chang - East & West Rendezvous (durian cendol and nyonya chang)
60, Lorong Hang Jebat, 75200 Melaka.

My Take : My fav bak chang !!!!! for ppl who like spices , esp i think tumeric !!! Must try !!!

11) La la & 4 treasure - Lane after Madam King’s department store on Jalan Bunga Raya
* Cockles and Shellfish Stall – walk into the dark lane where you’ll be greeted by wooden stalls with long low tables that are dimly lit with even lower benches to sit on. It’s like the outdoor hawker stalls of the 60’s.Ordered lala & this round snail The lady would just blanch them in boiling water & you eat it with this hae koh/belacan/lime/peanut dip. ! The jiu he eng chye was very good too. ( neber try )

* Popiah – in front of Mdm King's , very nice but lardy , 1 small is just nice , 2 might be too much cos of the lard used
* Pak Thong Koh –( didn’t try )

12) Tan Kim Hock Product Center (85, 87, 89 Jalan Bendahara [12]) sells famous food specialties from Melaka, like Dodol, Cincalok, Belacan, dried fruits, durian cake, etc

Must try my fav meat ball !!!

Please try go b4 5 pm although they put open @ 5pm , we reach at 5 and it's full already , online ppl say it's closed on monday BUT it was open when we were there. But Q is on even time we pass by it , so go ard 4.45pm to wait ! ( who say only Singaporean is KS ! , there are ppl running in front of me that day )

* Lobby air con not on , staffs calls and knock on our door a few times for nothing important , card have to refresh ever day after 12pm. Bed is BAD !!!! too hard for me , Pillow is BAD also , like those cube sponges. Only good review I had is FREE wifi and rain shower :P ( yes i am a sucker for that ) Oh .. it's a bit ulu to walk from jonker street also. ( near Xiang ji Satay )

Baba House [35]. 125-127, Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lok. Fax: +60-6-2811217 ( not too bad , nice bed and quilt to me and got a more " secure " carpark to me , and now that i like the naan so much , Baba house is the gateway for shortcut.

Heeren Inn. Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock, 75200 Melaka. so-so , no lift , no breakfast (who needs it anyway ) rooms bit run down.

My recommendation out of these 3 is Baba House. Book from Agoda , quite good n cheap to me.

Free Lunch @ Nando's

Won a meal for 4 @ Nando's FB page and decided to ask Bryan , Lynn and Yijia for the meal , since it's Mr B's B'day so did a cake to surprise him as well ( Also I save on $$$ to give him a treat ! ) So took a morning ferry @ 9.30 am , and reach SG @ 11.30 am and make my way down to Nando's pre opening meal @ Tanglin Mall. My sis was late , and my gal was even late , cos 3 of us went in w/o her first. Well I had actually read it wrongly , I thot was ALL U CAN EAT .. so was quite disappointed , cos we are limited to 1 starter , 1 main and 1 drink each , and for the drinks , they only allow 1 *special drinks/table , it's only $1 different from the normal soft drinks !!! , Well the handed us 2 * $100 GV and a Q&A form. I thot they could at least put it that , Max you can eat is $200 and anything more you need to top up , I think i be happier that way then to restrict this and that.

Well we ordered "Petisco" since all of the staff recommend that and for main we ordered the "Espetada with 2 sides " , "Espetada Rustica" and "Cataplana" and the waitress was like give that look and "oh ok " well dunno is it me think too much , or is like she is like giving us the " so you guys knows how to order the most expensive items" Duhz ... as if we are cheapo like that !!! Well the reasons why we order those are becos we tried in KL and really like it , and "Cataplana" is a new additional to the SG menu ! Kinda of turned off !
Well the food taste nice of cos , as well as the Peri Peri sauces !!! But ... some bad review here :-
1) the chicken was bit cold .. not as warm as expected cos the skewers were "hot"
2) Even the 1/2 chicken my daughter ordered was a bit cold also BUT the meat was soooooo tender .. loving it , even the BREAST !
3) The table a bit too small for us when the 4 main was served , think they change the plating , to give it a more high class look , compared to KL's mid valley one.
4) The staffs did come around and talk to us , which was good , BUT they was a point where I was talking and he was like looking elsewhere , I mean if you dun really like to pay attention ,then dun ask me ! I am just giving you my views ( cos I thot since I eat for free , least i should is to give my honest reviews)
5) The waitress was bit irritating , some of our plate was still with bit of foods AND we were holding on to our fork still , why keep asking if can clear the plates ? ( they at least asked 3 times ) they restaurant was not very full , why so kan cheong to keep plates ? I mean at least look at the customers , if they are holding their utensil , have the thots that we are still eating !!!

Other then those , had to admit , my fav is still Espetada ! And Thanks once again for the wonderful lunch ! Nando's !!! ( But we left still bit hungry LOL )

2010 ... Year of the Tiger ! ( the incomplete post)

Been a while , seriously I dunno what to update , Guess like have been pretty kind to me ? ( cos i usually blog when i am sad LOL ) , but had been busy , stressed and tired becos of Project Sweet Thots , More is going to come with more things on hand and trying to be better then the current status. Anyway b4 I start the long long long story of my boring updates, like to share some pics for those who are not on my FB , some of my new ideas/creations ?


2010 - Gonna be a busy year for me I guess , so far , still trying to come out with more "new" stuffs for the shop and hopefully business will pick up faster. CNY this year a bit boring , as per normal for most just that my relatives did not came over this year cos Buffet @ their house instead. Think mum bit lonely becos of that , not really in a bad way though. Oh i did something funny this year , post pre-CNY pic for ppl to take poll for my outfit ( though no ppl really reply LOL ) attached is the few pics

Sweet Thots & Me

Gosh … It really been a long while since I updated this blog , 2 main reasons . 1) Being I did not have Internet excess for about 1 mth (excuses) 2) Been very busy with the new setup of the shop (excuses no.2).

First of all, for all those who been checking this blog of mine out on and off, I will try to update more of my life and work here more frequent (that is if I am not spending all my time on my new PS3!!! ha ha ).

It had been more then a month since the shop is opened, a lot of ups and downs during this period, but now, more or less things had been kind of stable (I think)
Xmas is over ( today 25th le ) So gonna work on CNY and V.day items now , I know it's a bit late but better late then never.

Before I go into work work work , something about my life here first : -
Finally consider settled down , got a room above the shop , quite big but EMPTY. Why empty ? cos I only got the following inside :-
1) 1 TV console and a TV( 32” LCD though :P )
2) 1 PS3 Console with 2 games
3) 1 Sofa Bed
4) 1 Cabinet ( 5 layered drawers ) for my clothes
5) 3 foldable mattresses ( Bryan , Wz and Mavis , one each )
6) 2 cushion ( came with the sofa bed)
7) 3 pillows ( 1 by Wz and 2 by Bryan )
8) 1 body bolster
9) 1 suitcase ( as my table for my Macbook )
10) 1 Magic mop
11) some misc stuffs lying around

Imagine my room is @ least 6m by 5m , 30 sqrm ( abt 1/3 of my HBD size ) but with only these few items ….. So frenz , where is my house-warming gifts !!!!! :P

Still got a problem with the language here , so meals are a bit problem for me. Brunch is usually Chicken Rice or Bread , Then dinner is usually Indo Mee ( my style ) I usually cook with curry chicken , or a lot of different ways of eating.

How I spend my time here ? well usually wake up @ 7.45am then brush my teeth then open the door for my staff to come in , then will do all the daily stuffs , like prepare for orders , for shop sales , etc. then at 9.30 , I will go for my shower and get changed. Then whole day will be in the shop , working , till 8 pm , sometimes I will take a break in between , maybe a nap or something , cos I am working more like split shift here , 12 hrs shift ( where the other staffs only work 9 hrs ).

At nite , usually I be cooking my own dinner , then off to shower and then TV or nowdays start to do a bit of gamming , Just got a PS3 but seems like not enuff time to play ☹ can no longer be like last time le , play games ALL NITE LONG !! Guess age catching up with me. Just always feel not enuff sleep here, dunno why also.

Everything so far so good , except that we really need more exposure to get ourself notice. Sigh , I wanted this to work , will look good in my resume next time ( even though I am really not ready to be a “chef” YET. Anyway daily operation had more or less stable a bit , now just need to work on the “wedding” CHEAP packages , headache , cos really got no experiences in this field.

X’mas over , not very fantastic cos only mange to sell less then 20 logs cakes , I kinda of hope to hit @ least 40 pieces though. My cookies is moving slow also , did not even manage to sell a single whole fruit cake. ( Oh did i mentioned , we opened on X'mas day itself and the walk in was pathetic !!! ( if not for a collection , it could had been worst then a normal weekday !!! )

Some things I really need to figure out , how to minimize wastages, cos the strawberry here really can die , SOOOOOOoooooooo Juicy that it keeps “weeping” and the color change real fast after cutting , thus my cakes can onl;y last 2-3 days MAX.

Things I had oreadi done to help minimun wastage , do small amount for cakes tht cannot keep long , use plastic wrap , sugar syrup the cake …. Dunno what else I can do. Headache also …

For main focus now is to
1) Come up with the wedding packages
2) Cookies and Cakes for CNY
3) Cakes/chocolates for V.day
4) Bring down operational cost
5) Bring in more Revenue
6) Learn how to write ... Sigh writing and pipping always hit me real hard !!!

Think that’s all for now , Sunday today , tomorrow OFF but cannot go back cos need to learn some local cookies from Boss’s relative. Well always good to learn more things ☺ no harm done , maybe will try catch a movie tomorrow ( if got time cos I am thinking of doing some sweet bun for own consumption , bought my own yeast n flour and filling oreadi)

Wish I could live a different live if I could turn back the clock

It's been a while again , just came back from a holiday trip , will update on that once I got all those pics.
Kinda of feel emo nowdays , alot of things in my mind. Just happen to chat with a senior in FB today. She happen to keep in contact with one of the teacher from my secondary school. and i ask her to send my regards. But she manage to contact the teacher and gave me her contact nos. It got me thinking , should i contact her ? cos as u know lar , former teachers of urs will always ask , what you doing now and stuffs. For me i feel inferior , cos at my age , I still did not achieve anything great ? no career no nothing, still living a day to day lives.

Batam project starting soon , I wish to do my best for it but am scare , what if i fail to get it running well ? it's all my fren's $ . I just hope all will turn out well . Every1 thinks I am good but in the actual fact , i dun think i am , it just a front i project to others.

Looking back ... i had really take my life got granted , but what can i do to change now ? how do i go about changing it ? do i still have a 2nd chance like many said ? I really dunno. Suddenly feel so useless .... Y am i always so Emo ? Y am i born this way ? Y i grow up this way ? What had really gone wrong in my life ? I really got no answers to it. But i guess i can only blame myself for what it is today.

Cream Sauce spaghetti


奶油白酱 ( cream sauce )
〖 ingredient 〗
Fresh Cream ----50g
Milk ----300g
Butter (1) ----50g
Butter (2) ----20g
Flour ----50g

〖做法〗
1)warm cream + milk together in a saucepan/small pot and leave aside
2.Melt 50g of butter in another pot。
3.Add flour and cooked till fragrance。
4.Slowly add in the warmed milk+cream。
5.keep stirring , do not burnt
6.Stir until well mix
7.Put in a small container and add in the 20g of butter , to melt it.

培根奶油意面
〖材料〗
your choice of spaghetti - 200g
Bacon bits
Shaved ham
hot dog/sausages
button mushroom
chopped garlic
Olive oil
Stock - 150g
Cream sauce ( from above) - 80g
Fresh Cream - 60g
Butter - 50g
Parsley
Cheese of your choice
Salt , Pepper , Black Pepper - to taste

Steps.
1.boil hot water , add bit salt then cook the noodle
2.put some olive oil in a pan n warm up then add in the chopped garlic
3. add in the bacon bits ( do not put too much oil cos bacon bits will have oil )
4.Add in Ham/hot dog/sausage fry a bit brown then add mushroom
5.then add in the stock n then follow by the cream sauce n let it small boil. ( can add some pepper to taste)
6.Put in the noodle n cook for ard 1-2 min then add in the fresh cream n parsley and some grated cheese/shredded.
7.Ready to serve.
